Hearing Aids 1000

Hearing aids in the Fall

by Jason on October 14, 2010

I like to write a brief post every time a new season is uopon us to touch on possible challenges that the new weather may bring. I would venture to guess that in most parts of the US and the world, the Fall is the kindest season on hearing aids. Gone are the scorching-hot, sand-filled days of summer. Also, we are not yet into the battery killing frigid days of winter.

In my city, Seattle, Fall means rain which is a challenge for hearing aids. More and more of the units hitting the shelves these days are waterproof which lessens the harm of fall rains but it is simply not good to get your aid soaking wet.

A leaf bumping into a hearing aid is not a riskt? What else is with Fall? Perhaps children returning to school and losing them although this would have to be considered a secondary risk ;)

Welcome to fall people, enjoy the colors and the football! Please let me know if you have anythoughts around how this season may effect our beloved aids.
