Hearing Aids 1000

demand for green hearing aid batteries

by Jason on October 29, 2010

In this day and age there is so much talk about the green revolution. Every time you see an advertisement it seems to be promoting some form of eco friendly angle. I think this is a wonderful thing. I am however, trying to determine what the demand for green products (especially batteries) there is.

Does anyone use hearing aid batteries that can be recycled? I have two concerns around green hearing aid batteries. The first is their longevity. How long do they last? My experience with rechargeable batteries is that they lose their charge so much faster than normal batteries. This can be a major problem for hearing aids. Less so if the batteries are being used in toys or vacuums.

The other issue I have is cost. The makers of rechargeable batteries always charge a premium for their products. This makes sense but I have to wonder if the additional cost is recouped.

Anyone with experience using these rechargeable batteries, please let me know how you like them. Inquiring minds want to know! ;O
