Hearing Aids 1000

sports and hearing aids

It has been a while since I have written on the topic of sports and hearing aids. My hope is that in the interim there have been some advancements. If you use a hearing aid and participate in sports please add a post to this blog.

Clearly there are multiple challenges to wearing a hearing aid during the activity of sport. The risks include ruining the hearing aid with the sweat that is produced, breaking the hearing aid during contact within sport or losing it. The challenge to not wearing a hearing aid is that if you are hearing impaired, you need the hearing aid to be on a level playing field with the others.

Ideally a company would create a durable and waterproof hearing aid that is designed for sports. Does anyone know if this exists?

What I have learned is that there are a few companies making hearing aid accessories that are basically cases for hearing aids during sports. This is a pretty decent solution if they work. Does anyone have any experience using a sports case for their hearing aid or for use with those of their children?
