Spring is here and soon the rock festivals of summer will be starting. Certainly many people reading this blog will not be attending the rock concerts and will not have to worry about hearing aids at the concerts but some people will be. Also, you may know a young person who uses hearing aids who will be attending loud rock shows.
I actually am not sure of the best way to approach hearing aids and rock concerts. Does anyone have any experience with this? Certainly the conservative people in the world would say that people who wear hearing aids should not go to loud shows. However, that is old school thinking and we have to realize that young people who wear hearing aids want to have fun and fit in. They should not be told that they can not attend rock shows with their friends. SO what is the answer? Remove the hearing aids and leave them at home? Use them as normal? Please comment on this thread with advice if you know the best way to deal with hearing aids and loud music. Summer will be here soon and loud music is just one of the challenges it brings to hearing aids. It also brings hot heat, playing near water and sand. Be careful and take care of your hearing aid!
