Hearing Aids 1000

Hearing aid look as part of decision process

by Jason on November 10, 2010

When choosing a hearing aid, I am wondering what percentage of the decision goes towards the look of the hearing aid. There is no doubt that we humans can be very vein creatures, myself being no example. That being said, one would hope that when choosing a medical device such as a hearing aid, we would not be swayed much by its look but rather by the hearing aid’s features.

As I often mention, I do not yet require hearing aids. As a rock drummer for 20 years I do expect the day to come. I have not choosen a hearing aid to wear, so I put this question to the group. What role does vanity play in your choice. Is it everything? The smaller the better regardless of performance? Is it only considered once you have determined the best unit for yourself? Or does the sway of the look of your hearing aid lie somewhere in between these two extremes?
