Summer is drawing to a close and it is time to think about going back to school. This can be a very trying time for children who have been fitted for a hearing aid over the summer or for children who use hearing aids who are going into a new school.
As parents of children with hearing aids please give special attention and support to your children during the first weeks of school. We all know how rough a new situation can be and it is only exaggerated with the addition of wearing an aid.
It does seem that as hearing aids get smaller and smaller and kids are more comfortable with technology that it is less of an issue than 20 years ago but it is still very complex. Support your children in the fall. They need it!
