I can’t help but write a pice about how hearing aids perform in the rain since I live in Seattle. We are deep into November and the rains are coming down hard here. It makes me wonder which hearing aids perform better than others in the rain. Should people who live in the rainy Northwest buy a certain kind of hearing aid over another due to the wetness?

From most on my research, it seems that the emphasis is on preventing hearing aids from getting wet rather than which hearing aids perform better in the rain. So I choose instead to focus on finding Waterproof hearing aids. There is a model out called the Hunter being promoted by advancedhearing.com that claims to be waterproof. Does anyone have any experience with this brand of hearing aids?

At the end of the day, the biggest challenge with waterproof hearing aids is that the sound needs to enter the device somehow. True waterproofness defeats the nature of a hearing aid.

I am upset to report that for now hearing aids should be kept out of the rain and are not waterproof. Please write in if I am wrong and missing something. I hope I am!
