Every year brings new technology for hearing aids. Now is the time I often wonder what hearing aid developments we will see in the new year. What improvements will we see in 2010?

While we have seen wonderful developments over the last decade in hearing aids in the areas of size, sound quality, durability and more, there are still many improvements that need to occur.

One area of hearing aid technology that certainly can use a hit of improvement is the batteries. Ideally 2010 will bring an increase in battery performance. This would include both longer life for hearing aid batteries as well as greener technology. Millions of hearing aid batteries are used and disposed of every year. This cycle needs to be broken.

I will also look for improvements in the world of feedback cancelation for hearing aids.
