I am getting ready this month to fly to both las vegas and to London. I am excited about my trips but they got me thinking about the rules around flying on airplanes with hearing aids. Does anyone have any experience with this? What are the current rules around bringing and wearing hearing aids on air planes? With all of the terrorism scare out there these days, it would not surprise me if they have some harsh rules around hearing aids on planes.

I have not been able to gather too much information around the use of hearing aids on planes to date. I was able to determine that people are not allowed to have their hearing aids turned on during take off and landing. The FAA looks at hearing aids the same way that they view mobile phones. They are afraid of signal interference.

I can, via logica deduction, now know that the FAA allows hearing aids on planes. The fact that they require them to be turned off during take off and landing tells me this. If anyone has additional knowledge about hearing aids and traveling on airplanes please add to this blog post! Thank you very much and happy new year.
